Experience

I believe that a student's confidence and academic growth are essential in creating a true appreciation for the world that we live in, and that with the right support and the right environment, everyone is capable of learning. I am very passionate about teaching science, particularly biological science, as it covers all the different processes, cycles, and intricacies of life on our earth. During my time as a teacher, I have taught a number of science courses, including biology, zoology, ecology, and physical science. I have also helped students prepare for standardized tests in these topics. I am comfortable working with both junior high and senior high students. I attained my TEFL certificate to help me work better with students from a diverse array of English language backgrounds. I enjoy tying literacy and analysis together in order to better understand and succeed in standardized testing, as well as to get students to think critically about the material.I received my bachelor's degree in biology from Creighton University and my master's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Notre Dame. During my free time, I enjoy yoga, being in the outdoors, running, reading, and baking.
