Experience
I am very curious about the world around me, which is why I love learning and instilling this value in my students. I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Denver in International Studies because I love learning new things about the world. I also taught violin lessons for years, and I realized that I very much enjoyed watching my students get better at this difficult instrument. This led me to tutoring, and now I focus on tutoring in geography (which ties into international studies, of course!), as well as general test preparation. Both standardized and college entry tests can be very stressful for students, and I want to remove that stress so they can get the best score possible. I also tutor students in some school classes like government, geography, literature, social studies, and reading comprehension. My tutoring philosophy revolves around teaching students how they learn best, and guiding them to come up with their own conclusions and evaluate for themselves how they think. Whether studying hard through a difficult subject or trying to learn to take a test, it is important for students to understand patterns and their own abilities. While not tutoring, I like to study languages and music on my own. I'm also really into physical fitness.
