Indiana University-Bloomington - BS , Secondary Education - Social Studies , University of Chicago - Masters of Arts, Social Service Administration
Hello. My name is Elisabeth. I graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's in Secondary Education, and from the University of Chicago with a master's in Social Work. My teaching experience includes being a second-grade teacher and working in Malawi, Africa as a teacher trainer and a secondary teacher. My work in Africa was part of my Peace Corps assignment. My teaching background helps me understand why a solid foundation is so important. My goal is to always take an approach that makes the learning experience positive and invigorating. I especially enjoy when I teach and tutor something that is new for the student. There is great personal satisfaction in seeing them gradually grasp the information until they reach the point of full understanding. I strive to create a customized plan for the student. This is the best way to match the student's learning style, which is so important to achieve success. I can provide tutoring in Reading, Writing, Phonics, Psychology, Study Skills and Organization, Special Ed, Public Speaking, Social Sciences, Elementary Math, Literature, and English. I live in Denver, Colorado. From a personal perspective, I like to hike, go on adventures, and a good dish of ice cream.
