I am a certified READING SPECIALIST and ELEMENTARY TEACHER. I have a graduate degree from Bank Street College, a prestigious teachers’ college in New York City. I have 6 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and a reading specialist. I work with all kinds of children including those that simply need a little extra support to get on grade level and those that have learning disabilities. I use assessments to closely analyze students’ reading behaviors and design programs to meet their individual needs. My intervention methods are based in the READING RECOVERY program. I also use a variety of phonics intervention programs that are designed for a student’s particular difficulties. I am trained and experienced in using WILSON’S FUNDATIONS a phonics program designed for dyslexic students (based in ORTON GILLINGHAM). MATH INTERVENTION As a trained and experienced elementary teacher I have advanced background knowledge about the development of mathematical thinking in children. I love assessing and analyzing students difficulty to design programs just for them. My methods are Common Core aligned.
