Experience
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me the opportunity to provide one-on-one instruction to enthusiastic students, which is not always possible in a standard classroom. I have been a Colorado high school science teacher for 12 years, going on 13. My specializations include AP Biology (11 years experience including training), IB Biology HL and SL (4 years experience including training) and other biology and science courses. At the college level, I have taught and/or tutored quantitative analysis, genetics, microbiology, parasitology, evolution and molecular genetics. My most recent GRE scores were 160 Verbal Reasoning, 150 Quantitative Reasoning and 5.0 Analytical Writing according to the post 2011 format. My ETS Praxis General Science Certification test was in the upper 15th percentile nationally in the history of the exam. I continue to take research positions when possible to collaborate with scientists in the field to keep my knowledge up to date and bring the most modern knowledge and research techniques to my students.
