Anthony P.
Private tutor in Denver, CO
Education
I currently hold two Bachelor's Degrees: one in Secondary Mathematics Education (grades 5-12) and another in Multi-Subject Elementary Education (grades 1-6) from Stony Brook University in NY. I also have a Master's Degree in Special Education (grades K-12) from Western Governor's University, which I earned in 2013.
Experience
I have been tutoring middle and high school math students for the past five years. I have over 5 years of full-time teaching experience including courses in elementary mathematics, algebra, and geometry under the Common Core Learning Standards. I also have experience with preparing students for the mathematics portions of the ACT and SAT exams. I consider myself a teacher first and a mathematician second. I understand that students need to see difficult mathematical procedures and concepts broken down into easy-to-understand steps.

Hobbies
Education is my life. In addition to serving as a classroom teacher, I also run an online learning platform (www.mashupmath.com) that teaches math to students with a visual learning preference. I love social media, hiking, and playing video games when I have time. I pride myself on my ability to connect with millennials because I am a millennial :)
