I was a Learning Assistant at UC Denver in Organic Chemistry 1. I got a 1340 (out of 1600) on the SAT. I scored in the 80th percentile on the MCAT. I enjoy sharing my knowledge. I worked very hard for a long time, and I enjoy revisiting my subjects. I've excelled in Molecular Biology, Organic Chemistry 1, Organic Chemistry 2, General Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Endocrinology, Developmental Biology, Biochemistry, and Immunology, just to name a few. I also lived in El Salvador for 5 months, and speak intermediate Spanish.

Hobbies

As I child I was fascinated by dinosaurs and different types of rocks. However, my inability to keep still drove me to take a greater interest in sports such as basketball and baseball. As I got older, I decided that I wanted to dedicate my life to the sciences. I became a student. This was very challenging for me, and from my painful experience I believe I can help kids focus their attention to learning anything they want. I will be applying to medical school next summer. I am currently an EMT working on an ambulance in Commerce City, and I am also a Research Intern at UC Denver for Assistive Technology Partners. In my free time I like to run, play basketball and softball, as well as read with my cat, Raja. My favorite books are "One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest," and "Faith Madness and Spontaneous Human Combustion."
