Private tutor in Denver, CO
Princeton/Empire State College - BA, History & Social Theory , Rutgers University - PhD, American History
Hello from Denver, Colorado. I'm a graduate of Princeton University and SUNY Empire State College. I hold a Ph.D. from Rutgers University (1988). I have also completed the requirements to become a Chartered Financial Analyst, a designation I have held since 1994. My goal as a tutor is to listen to the students I'm working with so that I can understand them and the way they learn. I also want to help them develop a love for learning so they will be able to continue this process long after the formal process stops. I have recent experience as a substitute teacher and tutor in the Denver Public School system. I also have been a history adviser for a national level high school competition on the topic of the United States Constitution. I'm available for tutoring assignments on a number of subjects, including, Algebra 1, United States History, Business, Constitutional History, GMAT, 9th Grade Reading, Grammar and Mechanics, Architectural Design, Political Science, Financial Accounting, English, and more. My interests are varied, and include art, music, architecture, reading, sports (especially hockey and football), and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy cooking and a great cup of coffee.
