Hobbies

I love to teach middle school students, coach volleyball and basketball, and love spending my time outdoors! In the summer/fall, I love running through the parks of Denver, and in the winter I snowboard in my free time. I love helping all students succeed, and doing whatever it takes to get there! I enjoy traveling during my summer's off - this past summer I went to Rio de Janiero and backpacked through Europe. I try to instill in my students that learning can happen both in a classroom as well as with a passport in hand. As a high school/college athlete, I love to relate math to sports, especially for students who are active and love sports. It makes it relevant to them, and I see them grow immensely in this way! From teaching Math intervention, I see that working one on one with students is a strength of mine - I get to know the child for who they are as a whole, and can adapt the math problems and present them in a way that they will best understand! I am entering my 3rd year of teaching 6th grade Honors Math, 7th Grade Honors Pre-Algebra, and 7th Grade Pre-Algebra. Nothing is more gratifying than teaching, and I want to stay in this profession as long as possible!
