Private tutor in Denver, CO
South Dakota School of Mines and Technology - BS, Mining Engineering , Colorado School of Mines - MS, Mineral and Energy Economics
I have an unquenchable thirst for learning new things, which drives my interest in teaching and tutoring. Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom, it happens all around us and at all times. I integrate this belief into my teaching philosophy, and I attempt to demonstrate this to my students. I have a degree in engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where I graduated with honors. I am presently enrolled in the Colorado School of Mines, pursuing an M.S. in Mineral and Energy Economics. Because of my background, I'm extremely qualified to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics coursework. I'm also proficient at teaching Statistics, Micro/Macroeconomics, Algebra (all levels), A.P. Economics, Calculus, Trigonometry, and Business. My educating style mixes together a sense of challenge and comfortable pacing. I like to push students to new levels of mastery, while also being attentive to their speed and level of comprehension. I have high expectations for myself, as well as for my students, and I like to receive feedback on my teaching methods. I also value discussing students' progress with their parents and guardians. I value personal flexibility, and I prefer to reschedule sessions if students need to miss sessions for some reason or another.
