I had a difficult time in high school because of undiagnosed Attention Deficit Disorder, but after I was diagnosed at the age of 25, I went on to excel in the university setting. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, and then earned a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from the same institution. I continued in Analytical Chemistry at Vanderbilt University in Nashville where I earned my PhD, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Indiana University in Bloomington. I am now located in Denver, Colorado, where I homeschool my son, who is 13 years old. I have significant experience both tutoring and teaching in a classroom setting. In my free time I enjoy pursuing my interests in science, music, and computers.I know from experience that a good teacher is able to assess and teach to the learning style of each student. I am passionate about science and love helping students discover how truly fascinating the sciences are. I have taught both advanced students and those with no background in science. I tutor in science subjects including chemistry, physical science, honors chemistry, and AP chemistry.
