In college, I worked two years for the Center For Human Enrichment at the University of N. Colorado as an English and writing tutor and teacher assistant. Most of my experience during this job was with first-generation college students. I met with students 1-on-1 for help with grammar, essay structure, and test-prep, but I also worked with students in group and classroom settings. After graduating college, I moved to California where I worked for a tutoring company tutoring math and English to K-8th graders. Most of my time was spent 1-on-1 with children from lower-income and ESL families, and I met children either at a nearby library, or in their homes. Once school ended for the summer and my work with the company was finished, I was approached by multiple parents to keep tutoring their children privately, which I did until I moved back to Colorado this past summer. I am a laid-back person, and it is easy for me to get along with and accommodate a wide variety of people and learning styles.
