Private tutor in Denver, CO
McGill university - BS, Chemistry
Hello. I graduated from McGill University in Canada with a bachelor's in Chemistry. Currently, I am working on a graduate degree at the University of Colorado in Denver, where I am studying architecture. My tutoring experience dates back to when I was in high school, and I assisted other student athletes in their quest to always be current on the material. My tutoring gradually became more formal during the remainder of high school and at college, where I focused on science and math. I have led review sessions for groups and done 1:1 sessions to help students prepare for the SAT, ACT, and the quantitative section of the Graduate Record Examination. My tutoring approach is to make the session as personalized as possible and work together with the students to set goals that are obtainable. There are few students that would claim to love chemistry or math the way I do. That's why I use a variety of tools, like flashcards and games, to make things fun and interesting and to appeal to various learning styles. I can also help students leverage their own skills and thought patterns to create highly effective test-taking strategies. When I have free time, I like to do anything that is athletic or outdoors, especially snowboarding and soccer. I also enjoy playing guitar, cooking, and painting.
