Experience
I attended the Air Force Academy for my bachelor's degree in foreign area studies. I also earned a Spanish minor. As a US Military officer, I often made use of my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture. I speak Spanish natively, and I got to spend 10 years providing interpreting and translation all over the world and with military leaders in Latin American countries. I've been certified to teach English as a second language for the past nine years, and I've been working with students individually and in the classroom. I like to relate concepts to applications in the real world to help students better understand concepts and retain them. I love helping students learn ESL and the Spanish-language because it allows students to better understand and appreciate diverse populations. When I have free time, I like to read, crochet, hike, run, and spend time with friends and family.
