My philosophy in a tutor session is to build a comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and to apply their new knowledge as they work towards mastering the material. I have a special fondness for writing and believe that any student is capable in becoming a great writer through practice and practical application of the material. I assist students in building a strong foundation of grammar and structure to grow their writing skills. It is my intention in tutoring English to provide my students with the skills they need to write both creatively and academically to reach success in their courses. Within writing, I can tutor students in college level essay writing and also help to teach self-editing skills as we work together to edit their papers. Additionally, I have a passion for Science. I earned an Environmental Biology degree from Hendrix College in Arkansas. I enjoy working with students of any level to build their knowledge and interest in botany, ecology, biology, and environmental science. I am also capable of assisting students as they prepare for the science section of the ACT. When I am not working, you can find me hiking or playing disc golf and video games.
