Private tutor in Denver, CO
Metropolitan State College of Denver - B.A., English , University of California, Los Angeles - Ph.D., Medieval British Literature
I obtained my B.S. in English with a Creative Writing focus from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and then went on for my master's and Ph.D. in Folklore & Mythology from UCLA with emphasis in Medieval Celtic Literature and Languages. I've successfully published many professional Celtic Studies related articles. For over a decade, I've taught as an English professor and served on the faculty of Regis University's online Irish Studies. Throughout my career, I've been tutoring students in writing for several local colleges. I most enjoy working personally with pupils on their debate essays, which helps them develop sharp logical reasoning abilities, polish and perfect their research skills, as well as getting comfortable with complex and detailed documentation processes. I believe in positive learning styles, encouraging students to envision the successful completion of tasks, while noting places to improve. I work on long-term confidence building so students have lasting success. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains, spending time with animals, exploring new cultures by traveling (both domestically and internationally), listening to live music performances, going to the movies, hanging out with family, and trying new culinary delights with friends.
