ExperienceOne of the things I enjoy the most about teaching is reading what students have written. I find myself reacting in many ways. Their words have broken my heart. Their words have given me insight. Their words, at times, bring me much joy and laughter. While I am able to see into each student through their writing, they see how enjoyable writing can be with an interactive audience. My education experience started as a young child who continually read. I went on to earn degrees in Medieval Studies and English Literature. I also enjoyed taking classes in math, psychology, and geology during my college years. After graduation, I became a full-time tutor within the Denver school district. I work within the middle and high school with students who struggle with reading and writing. My tutoring focuses on making each session specific to a student but also fun. I also enjoy that moment when a student fully understands the topic or subject we have been studying together. My tutoring subjects include math, SAT prep, English, writing, editing, grammar, reading, phonics, French, Latin, European history, world history, and special education. In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, knitting, juggling, and running.
