My name is Jane. I'm a Fulbright alumna, high school valedictorian, and graduate of Vassar College '11 with over 7 years experience consulting, teaching, and tutoring. Currently, I teach yoga, write, paint, and tutor in the Denver area. My love of learning and teaching has naturally led me toward tutoring, a path in which unique relationships can be forged based on the goals and needs of the individual student. For me, the tutor's role is not strictly academic, but also supportive and encouraging, especially for younger students struggling to find a positive attitude regarding learning. More about my work and education history: From 2012-2014, I served as General Academic's Communications Manager in Houston, interviewing, hiring, and training other tutors to meet our high standards. There I gained experience working one-on-one with more than 50 students aged 6-18 and became particularly knowledgeable about high school placement tests, such as the ISEE and HSPT. From 2011-2012, I taught English in Thailand on a Fulbright Grant and received teaching and cross-cultural training in both Washington, D.C. and Bangkok. In my private tutoring sessions, I have worked with adults in Thai and French. My four years as a multimedia consultant (primarily video, web, and graphic design) benefit my ability to collaborate to meet my students needs, whatever their age.
