Experience
I have one year of classroom experience, teaching as a math and English enrichment teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at Summit Academy. I have also privately tutored students in their homes. My most recent experience with a one on one student was with a high school senior who required help completing the California state required senior project. I aided in research, essay writing, creating a power point presentation and with oral presentation preparation. I have worked with students of all ages in both a professional and volunteer capacity. I have worked with the Orion's Mind Company, who specialize in addressing the different learning needs of a student through the use of creative play in learning. I would bring to your student the ability to learn their content through different avenues that would not be available in the classroom and will customize my interactions and lessons to your students needs. The skills that I have learned from the Orion's Mind Corporation are research based and proven effective. As a student myself I have always done very well and excelled. I was the recipient of an Academic Honors Award from Mesa Community College during my time there and graduated with honors from Arizona State University. I have chosen to continue to tutor because I am now the proud parent of my own sweet daughter. I am looking for the opportunity to structure my schedule so that I can spend time with her while my husband is working towards completion of a Masters Degree from University Colorado Denver.
