Experience
I have a form of Autism called Asperger's Syndrome. This gives me a unique and effective understanding of fellow individuals on the Autism Spectrum, and those with special needs or learning disabilities. I seek to engage my clients into interactive learning, to organically grow their curiosity in the material, utilizing techniques such as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Natural Environment Training, Discrete Trial Training, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have over 20 years tutoring experience and am patient, firm, and fun. The best analogy I can give is that Autistic/Special Needs individuals have challenges, these challenges have a "lock", sometimes a series of "locks", that need to be unlocked to overcome that challenge. I happen to have a very, very large set of "keys" that I use to open these locks, which is a depth of different methods and approaches. And because I'm Autistic myself, I often have similar neural patterns to my students, giving me an advantage. I have experience working with ADD, ADHD, Autism, Non-verbal, physically challenged, Tourette's, APD and LPD, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, Executive Function Deficit and Dyslexia,
