Experience
I have tutored virtually as well as in person for high school chemistry and biology students, and also tutored people of all ages for chess. Teaching science is a passion of mine and I enjoy working 1-1 with students to optimize their understanding on a deep level from understanding scientific processes to overarching themes and concepts of biology and chemistry. Teaching/Education Experience: I directed the science program and taught as a High School Science Teacher for grades 9-12 in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics (2013-2016) at a local high school in Denver, CO. While directing the program, I was also a Master Teacher NSF Fellow for Physics Education at CU Boulder and conducted research on student connections between scientific concepts in the classroom to real world applications. Additionally, I have served as an Adjunct Professor at CU Denver in the Biology Department through the CU Succeed program for high school students, and later was a part-time Adjunct Professor with Arapahoe Community College for Biology for majors. Over the years, I have been a virtual K-12 Science Education Master Teacher Consultant for Renaissance Learning & UClass, an education start-up company, and have worked with the Downtown Denver and New England Aquariums in developing ocean curriculum.
