Experience
I am a current software engineer with almost 20 years of experience in the career. As a software engineer, I have written software for NASA, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, or NREL, and many other prestigious clients. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I earned a bachelor's degree in History and Anthropology. I considered working toward my doctorate degree, but I then learned that computer programming was my calling. My interest led me to my current career that I enjoy greatly. As a senior software engineer, I learned how much I love to teach others when I mentored my junior engineers and helped them get caught up on new technology in my continuously advancing field. I have also tutored in the DPS system, where I helped at-risk youth get caught up on their studies and acted as a mentor. I not only tutor in computer and software-related subjects, but I can also teach the French language, because I am fluent in it and very passionate about the language. I have an array of hobbies, and many of them involve teaching. I am a USPTA Level 1 tennis teaching professional, and I currently teach tennis to children ages 10 and under. I also love teaching people to play the drum set, so we can play good jazz music together.
