ExperienceWriting is often overlooked as one of the most important tools to add to a child's skill set. As a middle child wedged between a geometry teacher and a geographic information systems scientist, I often wondered where my place was in the world between ellipsis, apostrophes and algebraic equations. The reality is, even scientists and math geniuses have to send e-mails, express their thoughts on paper or through conversation, and remember when to use a semicolon as opposed to a comma.
I've been working with kids for over 10 years both as athletes and students. I would love the opportunity to use my academic strengths to further cultivate a child's creativity. Or to just help them pass third grade. We don't all love to read and write, but we all have found a way to appreciate it.
