I graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in the spring of 2013
Experience
My education consists of rigorous academics from boarding school to Stanford University. I recently graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. I have taken college calculus I and II, physics, computer science, as well as engineering depth courses and am confident in tutoring upper level math and science courses. I also completed leadership training courses which reinforced skills such as time management and communication for successful goal attainment. My tutoring experience began in high school and I have since specialized in tutoring elementary and middle school math, algebra, geometry, and physics. Despite my concentration in math and science, I enjoy engaging in a student's entire curriculum to develop improvement and confidence across all subjects. I do this through practice and extra attention. In addition to tutoring friends and classmates throughout school, I began tutoring children in my hometown community through my high school years. I worked one on one with 4th through 6th graders in math, science, history and reading comprehension by reviewing school work and engaging in extra worksheets and readings. I expanded to teaching in classrooms as the education coordinator while at Stanford University. This gave me the opportunity to develop curriculums for all grade levels from kindergarten to seniors in high school and teach the material to larger groups. I have always had a passion for math, science, and their fun and practical applications and take pride in passing along the joy that comes from mastering a problem and a subject. I love learning, working with others to solve problems, and instilling that passion in those around me because after all, learning is fun! I believe in tailoring each tutoring program to the students individual needs and learning styles. I would be happy to work with the parents and the students to develop the appropriate curriculum for your child. Each student deserves the attention and motivation to succeed and cherish each tutoring session as an opportunity to help a student do so. With a diligent schedule, concise explanations, sufficient practice, and positive reinforcement any subject can be mastered. I am looking forward to working with your child!
