I am a summa cum laude graduate in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder. I have experience applying to medical school but decided to hold off for a few years for personal reasons so I have excellent experience with the new MCAT including Kaplan's books and all of the ExamCracker and AAMC materials.

Experience

I ran my own tutoring club on campus as I found a great passion for teaching and helping others. I have also been employed by numerous tutoring agencies including Buff Tutors in Boulder. I enjoy breaking down complex topics into basic steps and formulas for success. I typically ask students what their preferred teaching method is and create a method that works for each student. I will also ask if students will send me their PowerPoints/study material before we meet so that our time is maximized and I can address each and every facet of your material in depth and create useful mnemonics for easy recall. I truly believe if you put the effort in, I can get you the grade you want.

Hobbies

I am a member of the Clinical Research Team in Orthopedics at Children's Hospital and am in charge of hiring and mentoring interns for our program. I have also worked in the Behavioral Neuroendocrinology lab studying depression for the last four years on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. My work has primarily focused on a new antidepressant that acts outside of the brain in an effort to reduce negative side effects associated with current pharmaceuticals. I played hockey for the University of Colorado club team throughout college and still consider sports to be a huge part of my life.
