Experience:I am currently a third-year student at the University of Denver double-majoring in biochemistry and Spanish with minors in biology and international studies. In the future, I would like to go to medical school and become a cardiothoracic surgeon. I've tutored organic chemistry at DU for the past year and also have experience teaching Spanish to young children. I spent this past fall studying in Spain and have achieved a level of oral and written fluidity in Spanish. While in Spain, I taught English lessons to little kids. In high school, I also tutored classmates in math.

My academic achievements include valedictorian of my high school class, a member of National Honor Society, National Merit Commended Student, and AP Scholar. At DU I have been named to the Dean's List every quarter and am also the recipient of a full-tuition academic scholarship.

My research experience is primarily in organic chemistry and includes the Diels-Alder reaction, photochemistry, and the Paterno-Buchi reaction between cyclooctatetraene and various dienophiles. I also spent several months working as a research assistant for the psychology department at DU.

I am also an executive member of the Colleges Against Cancer organization at the University of Denver and co-chair the Relay for Life event that we organize on campus annually. I volunteer weekly at The Children's Hospital where I love playing with kids and making them smile.

I love tutoring and helping other people, particularly younger kids. I believe that I have a lot of valuable experiences working both with kids and in the areas of chemistry, biology, math, physics, and Spanish that would make me a good fit for your child. I hope that we can work together so that he/she can succeed!
Hobbies:In my free time I enjoy sports, especially soccer, hockey, and lacrosse, running, biking, being outside, water sports, skiing, reading, and hanging out with my friends.
